Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (AHSCT)

Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) may be considered by the team when multiple sclerosis has high activity, frequent relapses, or poor response to standard disease-modifying therapies. The decision is based on disease course type and evidence of inflammatory activity, prior treatment and relapse presentation, systemic organ function and infection risk, and whether conditions such as the ability to collect autologous cells are met.
