Excision + Postoperative Superficial Radiation Therapy

Surgical removal combined with superficial radiation therapy can be considered when the keloid is large, symptomatic, or affects function/appearance, and when drug, injection, or physical therapy alone is not ideal for control. Whether or not to implement it depends on the location and extent of the lesion, previous treatment response, skin condition, and overall health, and is determined after multidisciplinary evaluation.
