Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement (SAVR)
Surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) may be considered when there is symptomatic severe aortic valve insufficiency, or when there are no symptoms but there is left ventricular enlargement, decreased function, or combined aortic root disease. The decision is based on a comprehensive assessment of the degree of regurgitation, cardiac structure and function, previous treatment response, age and anticoagulation feasibility, surgical risk, and whether the artificial valve model is suitable, as determined by a multidisciplinary evaluation.
