Renal Denervation (RDN)

Renal artery denervation (RDN) may be considered when primary hypertension is poorly controlled despite lifestyle interventions and adequate multi-drug therapy, or when there is intolerance/limited adherence to medications. Suitability depends on the type of hypertension and overall cardiorenal risk, previous treatment response, whether the renal artery anatomy is suitable, renal function, and coagulation status. A joint assessment by cardiovascular and interventional specialists is required, and unsuitable anatomical variations and reversible secondary hypertension must be excluded.
