Percutaneous Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty (PBMV/PMC)

Mostly used for rheumatic moderate to severe mitral stenosis with suitable valve morphology. The decision depends on ultrasound scoring, whether there is left atrial thrombus or significant regurgitation, pulmonary artery pressure, and symptoms. Cardiac rhythm, comorbidities, and anesthesia tolerance are also considered, and compatibility with surgical options is assessed.
